TTS Ships Equipment GmbH, located in Bremen, Germany, is designated the hatch cover "Center of Excellence" and forms part of the Dry Cargo Handling Division.
Formerly Hamworthy KSE GmbH, which was acquired by TTS in 2001, the company has many years of experience in the design, manufacture, supply and maintenance of shipboard cargo access equipment. Its first hatch cover was designed and built in 1963 under the name of Kvaerner.
A ship fulfils the role of floating warehouse, container shed, cold store, trailer park or grain silo, often being called upon to perform several of these roles simultaneously depending on the cargo it is carrying. TTS Ships Equipment technology has assisted in the safe and expeditious handling of these, and many other cargoes for nearly 40 years.
Over this period, TTS Ships Equipment's technological ingenuity and creative flair have pioneered the development of access equipment that has led to the more efficient loading and discharging of cargoes on merchant ships worldwide.
Furthermore, the company has successfully engineered a series of hatch cover arrangements to meet all requirements for weatherdeck and tweendeck use.
