TTS – Contracts for Norwegian companies
Through its subsidiary company TTS Ships Equipment AS and the Marine Crane Division in TTS Marine ASA, Bergen has landed contracts worth approximately NOK 40m The contract is valid for delivery of side door systems, hatch covers, stern ramps, as well as deck cranes for four ships, with delivery from the summer of 2006 through to the spring of 2007.
The contracts have been signed with Bharati Shipyard in India. The pallet/container ships will be built for SeaCargo and Norlines. There is a possibility of an order of additional ships in the same series, as the ship owners hold option on 8 ships. The ships represent a renewal of this type of ship for transport along the Norwegian coast and the North Sea.
The ship owners, SeaCargo in Bergen and Norlines in Stavanger, have through a number of years been important customers to TTS. The large and complex systems delivered represent a good reference. TTS Ships Equipment AS is the TTS group’s product specialist as regards delivery of side door systems. The contract consolidates the company’s position as market leader within this segment. Knuckle boom cranes, one for each ship, are specialized cranes developed and adapted to pallet/container ships requiring a large degree of flexibility with regard to size and lifting capacity. This is a product, which TTS Marine ASA’s Marine Cranes Division has great expectations of.
