TTS Port Equipment has delivered a new linkspan to serve the port of Ystad in southern Sweden.
At 25 metres wide by 14 metres long, the linkspan has been designed to accommodate traffic growth at the port. Hydraulically operated, it can be locked at levels ranging from seven degrees below horizontal to seven degrees above, which is crucial for offering flexibility to port customers.
“Ystad is a significant port in Sweden because of its ferry links to Poland and to the Danish island of Bornholm, which can’t easily be reached directly from Denmark, especially by passenger traffic,” says vice president Sales at TTS Port Equipment, Håkan Jönsson. “The port is being developed and extended, and the delivery of the new linkspan is one of several important developments within the first phase, stage 1A, of the enterprise known as the Baltic Basin project.”
